I was there but I got a cold and had to go home early. I thought it was a lovely town and a nice atmosphere at the events I did go to. I'm hoping to go again next year. having to go home early the wristband at £44 wasn't really very good value, but I had decided to enter the songwriting competition so I felt sort of committed to that after driving an umpteen miles there. Having snuffled my way through that I was ready for home. highlight of the festival for me was the workshop on beginners bodhran - loved it. couldn't get seats for the concert with Stitherum, but the PA system for that one and the marine hotel seemed adequate. you could do with a few more fringe events (perhaps some more music in the other pubs) and I didn't see anybody flogging cds apart from the artists which is something I look forward to at any festival - a good folk cd retailer. a good effort from the organisers though
