My wife made one for the children with an 8-foot-long, 2-inch- diameter wooden pole (from Lowe's hardware), some silk flowers and ribbons, and a 4-foot length of PVC pipe hammered about two feet into the ground. Cost was less than $50 and took less than 2 hours to make. Obviously smaller than an authentic one, but it would perhaps do nicely for a decoration. (We had six children dancing around ours. If there are children in the wedding party, it would be nice for them.)
