I remember the folk club in Harrogate from years ago, sorry to hear of it's demise, but the same story is true of many folk clubs in the area. I met my wife in the old days of the folk clubs, when we were all students, we went along every Monday because the place was packed with young girls wholoved what was going on, not so these days. Slowly but surely the English folkscene is dying, and English folkies are to blame for this, with their accent upon tradidion,Irish and Scottish thrives because it is engrained into the lives of those who play it. Good luck to those who think otherwise.
