I tried three Seagulls in a local shop. A 12 string, a 6 string cutaway and an S6 folk with L.R.Baggs pickup. All the necks were slightly different, so it pays to try a few if you get the chance.

I fell in love with the small-bodied folk guitar. Nice tone, looks beautiful and plays really well. Sounds nice through a PA, too. The matt lacquer finish is already picking up a shine on the back of the instrument after 12 months, and it won't offer any protection against dings and scratches. On the other hand, it won't kill the guitar's tone either!

In the price range, I honestly couldn't find anything new to touch it.
