Do-wop singing is an old tradition at the Getaway. I managed to miss this year's session, but I'm not surprised it happened. Many years ago, when the Getaway was at Prince William Forest Park, we always had an unofficial session we called "The B-Lodge Boogie," after the building in which it was held. Jonathan Eberhart and Tom McHenry both knew a LOT of do-wop songs, and Dwayne Thorpe (and where was HE this year??) made a lot of contributions. I wouldn't have missed it for the world. Nowadays my son Ken Schatz is the best do-wop singer I know. Learned it from my old 45s... Maybe we oughta put do-wop on the program for next year...? Nancy
