What is legal is what is allowed by law. In Colorado a month's grace period is allowed by law and it is printed on the registration document. You can't get any more legal than that. The plates were legal enough for the ticket to be dismissed, but I had to be there at 9:30 Monday Morning to fight it. They only deal with traffic tickets at that time. if you go to the court house at any other time they won't talk to you. Most states recognize other states legal plates. Nevada doesn't. They trap tourists and slap them with a fine hoping that they won't be around to fight the ticket and will just pay the fine. Don't go to Nevada.
