Yep, it's a musical having its world premiere run in Toronto. First preview Feb. 2, official opening March 23, Princess of Wales Theatre. The music is by the Finnish folk group Varttina and the Indian composer A.R. Rhaman ("Bombay Dreams"). Musical director Christopher Nightingale told me "the collision of the two styles is what makes it really interesting." I was among those treated to a sneak preview--a half dozen songs and scenes--in December. It looks terrific. Web site is www.lotr.com There've been recent articles in Toronto Star, Globe & Mail, National Post, Detroit Free Press, less recently in N.Y. Times.
