I fixed him at the perfect time--right after the testicles drop but before the cat is sexually mature. I wouldn't wait longer than 9 months. If you fix them after they start spraying, they'll keep spraying for a while. But if you do it right, they never spray. Maybe I have a good cat. I never housebroke him. I brought him home, set out a little box and he just used it--never had to teach him. But I know a lady who says the same is true of her cat, so I don't know. He never goes anywhere but in his box when he's inside. I've never had problems with him that way.
