Rhynie mere is a local pronunciation of muir which is the Scots equivalent of moor. Alford is pronounced Ah-ford and Kennethmont has the emphasis on the second syllable 'eth'. Driving around that part of Scotland, the road signs are like a series of bothy ballad titles - wonderful. Jack
