I believe Katie is 85 now. It just seems that she must be older for all that she has done in her life. As I understand it, she is still doing talks on the Glen Canyon. But I haven't heard anything from the Glen Canyon Institute regarding my inquiries.
If you want some more things about Katie, do a search in the archives at NPR. She was part of a story on Lake Powell last year. They have some other stories about her as well.
