I don't suppose MacPherson's rant is really a song of vengeance, as he dies before he gets to do anything about it: 'It was by a woman's treacherous hand That I am condemned to die; It burns my heart that I must depart And no avenged be...' Or how about The Death of Parcy Reed? I can't remember what the revenge is for - something pretty insignificant I think - but there's a lot of blood blinding his e'e, and legs and arms getting hacked off.
