While singing with the X-Seaman's Institute down at the South St. Museum in New York City, I ran across a Slim Dusty album with "The Pub With No Beer" as one of the selections. I felt it demanded a good sing-a-long chorus.   I thought about all the pubs and bars I had visited in my time and recalled a tackey little sign the often read "There's no place like this place anyplace around here. . .so this must be the place!" It naturally became the newly sought chorus which I sang as "There's no place like this place anyplace around here, there's no place at all like a pub with no beer!" and it fit the melody perfectly!! A lot of people seemed to like it!
