The Eleventh Annual Charlie Poole Music Festival-- A Celebration of American Roots Music-- will be held June 9-11 at the Eden Fairgrounds (Oakland Avenue/Old Hwy 87) in Eden, North Carolina. Friday night's concert features Kirk Sutphin, Carolina Borderline, the Hungry Hash House Ramblers, Debby McClatchy, and newcomers Phil and Ann Case. All day Saturday there will be competitions, both Junior and Senior divisions, for cash prizes and ribbons in old-time and bluegrass band, old-time and bluegrass fiddle, flatpick and fingerstyle guitar, clawhammer and bluegrass banjo, best rendition of a Charlie Poole song, and grand prize for old-time three-finger banjo. On Sunday, tours of Charlie Poole's hometown, historic Eden, will be led by Kinney Rorrer. Highlights will include the mill where Charlie worked and his grave site.
