david bromberg was on of my three biggest influences, guitar-wise, when i was growing up and beginning to play with other writers. my dad got me a subscription to guitar player in 74 i think, and bromberg was one of the featured artists. his first solo album had been recently released and it is a masterpiece. aside from his immense musical talents, showcased in everywhichway on that disc, his own songwriting can make you cry--sammy's song rocks, and last song for shelby jean is one of the loveliest i've ever heard.
