GUEST,Billy McKinley BS: Ageism on mudcat (72* d) BS: Ageism on mudcat 06 Jun 06

I am 74 years of age. I retired in 1996 after a successful life running a family business,I was the third generationto do so. In 2004 I was Unfortunately diagnosed with the early stages of Alzheimers. Last year my grandson gave me a crash course on his computer. I got my own four weeks later ! I came onto this site after a friend who is a member told me about it in an email. Ageism seems to be making it's evil way into every part of our society, even here.

May I refer to the post below as an example. I only hope my friend when you reach my age that you do so in health and that some people make allowances for you in how you string together sentences.

I will miss Billy
He said he had done National Service in the British Army so the youngest he could be is about 70.
He also said he had "attended Kings College Cambridge" even though he could barely string a sentence together. I wonder what his degree was in.

Keith.
