GUEST,Pelrad Mystic Seaport Sea Music Festival 2006 (246* d) RE: Mystic Seaport Sea Music Festival 2006 17 Jun 06

Funny - I confused the year the YTB keg went away with the year they did away with the "good" beer, which was around 1986 or 87. I remember folks discussing the lesser quality (and the next year they brought their rum and single malt). I forgot that the keg was actually still out there until a couple of years ago, but now that I think about it, Ted was in charge of hooking up new kegs and I know he wasn't old enough for that in '86. Don't look at me, I never drank any of it! (But I was in charge of running cups of the good stuff from one end of the Seaport to the other the year the tent was at the North End. 1984? 1985? Those performers sure were thirsty.)

Also, the pub sings in town that I was talking about were around that same time. I remember because I was definitely way underage (maybe 14-17, so 1985-87?) and was worried that I would be kicked out of the bars. Performers were actually assigned to different places in town for the singing and it was much more of a performance than a "sing," so people really were blown out by Sunday morning.
