My 'tacky' guess - and it is a guess, is based on past experience. I hope I'm mistaken. I can see nothing whatever wrong with trying to get the collection for the nation, whether it is gifted - or bought if necessary. Maybe we should wait till it is sold off abroad then try to get it back! As I have pointed out, there are those elsewhere other than the UK who would be happy to have it. I really thought everybody knew about the Peter Kennedy controversy; it's been running for the 40 odd years I've been been involved in traditional music. Jim Carroll
