"recognition of the KIDS" This is what I saw the value in, and believe should be rewarded. Yes, we all have malformed, sick, and dying people near us - probably within a stone's throw of where you sit right now. More than any of us could ever hope to "save." And we always will have until someone comes up with an immortality pill. Trying to save people is throwing money into a bottomless pit, in my (cynical) opinion. But these kids saw a need, and selflessly decided to address it. I think generosity and compassion such as this should be nurtured. The fact that they are self motivated deserves respect as well. The predominant values in our current society as a whole, and especially in the younger set, suck big donkey. We could use more caring kids like this, and if I can send a couple bucks their way to encourage them to keep that compassion as they grow, then I'll do it. If you think the characteristics that these kids are displaying don't have any value, then you're even colder than I, and I've been told that I have a little, black, plexiglass heart since I was in high school.
