Seems like this thread I began a few days ago really started something. But, as an aging non-technophile, exactly WHAT must I do to send and receive music via the Net. Much of what you technophiles are saying is way over my head.

How does one get the sound into the computer in the first place? Microphone, what kind? How? What programmes would sender/receiver need.

If my friend in Florida wants to send me a (hummed) melody to a song, and I want to send one back, what do we need to have/do?
