I love my crocs. My sister, who is a teacher in Colorado, sent me a pair a couple of years ago, before they were available here in the east. She found out about them from friends who are nurses and doctors; apparently they were either designed by, or developed for, a surgeon, looking for comfotable, supportive footwear for the operating room. I wear mine year round, with and without socks; during our hottest months I have a "holey" pair. Beware, there are now many lookalikes on the market, made of different stuff and with a different foot bed--not at all comfortable to me. Of course, no shoe is right for everyone; I love the theory of Birkenstocks, but they do not work for my feet, and my husband finds crocs are not comfortable for him. Never buy shoes without trying them on; do try crocs. Carly
