WyoWoman, I live between Tacoma and Seattle, and the previous recommendations are sound (no pun). Dusty Strings is great as is Fremont, and Victory Music is an important repository for folk music in the region. Near Pt. Defiance (N. Tacoma) there's a little joint called The Antique Sandwich Co. that serves whole food and whole folk acts plus open mikes. Seattle Folklore Society is bigger than just downtown Seattle and their shows are tasty too. E-me if you want mor specifics. axeman@u.washington.edu Good luck becoming a resident! -Axe'
