I was just in the middle of a long post to this thread when AOL kicked me off--grrr!
Anywho, saw the documentary in Portsmouth, NH a coupla weeks ago. I had practically given up on the fantasy I'd be able to see it locally. Have wanted to see it since I first heard about it over a year ago.
I've been fascinated with Tannu Tuva since the mid 'Fifties when I collected stamps (those wonderful triangle ones with yurts, Bactrian camels and airplanes).
Saw/heard throatsingers at Somerville Theater about 6 years ago. All cowboy songs, of course, love songs to their horses. But these are, I think, the guys who came over the land bridge.
Own a copy of Layton's book "Tuva or Bust" about his and Feynmann's preoccupation with Tuva.
Have you been to the website? Links to Layton's Friends of Tuva, etc.
