I first heard this song in the old 1942 Warner Brother's cartoon of Dr. Seuss's "Horton Hatches the Egg": http://youtube.com/watch?v=0pKA-vZCL6o http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horton_Hatches_the_Egg The song was obviously popular enough to be parodied by the "Termite Terrace" animators who put together Warner Brothers cartoons.
