He started out as a Skiffle performer,was a friend & sometime collaborator of Dylan's,wrote a song ("If I Needed Someone")which was inspired by "The Bells Of Rhymney" & another ("I Me Mine") which was inspired by French Chanson.Very few people have inspired more people to pick up a guitar & learn to play it.He was also a great champion of the Uke. Neither Folk nor Blues artist he was well liked by afficionados of both. He would have been 64 today.64 being the age Paul sang about & '64 being the year his old band went global. Lost too soon to cancer.Though being stabbed could not have helped. I liked this guy. Anybody else?
