Well, what a turn of events! I am actually sorry to see Kate Burton leaving the show, but just saw an ad in the NY Times this past Sunday about a stage show she's going to be in. I was very impressed by her. I first saw her in a movie called Big Trouble in Little China.
In real life, Katherine Heigl, (is that how it's spelled?) was in salary negotiations with ABC because she found out others were getting paid more.
Now everyone's po'd because Kate Walsh is supposedly getting a spinoff, and they're not...boo-hoo! Do they actually forget what real jobs pay? Are they unaware of their privilege? Sounds to me like the show's melting down in the third season. Why tinker with success? Spinoffs, so soon?
I'm already fed up with the way broadcast television runs its series. I long for the good old days when a series ran at least a year before they yanked it...and had 24 episodes!
Now, they don't even run through the episodes in order and run reruns in the middle of the just new season. And they may only run some shows for two episodes, and then they just disappear...or they keep changing the time slots so they lose what audience they may have had. ABC did that with Sports Night and Once and Again.
