At least--I must agree that there is no shortage of "smoke and mirrors" in this
global warming thing. Acknowledging the brainpower supporting the current
fad, I am equally impressed with the brainpower saying there are other causes.
Perhaps if the US did not assume the role of trying to keep the entire world
from blowing up otherwise, we could cut back, also.

The vegans say that if we would all switch to tofu and radishes, we could kill
off most of the cows and eliminate a good deal of the methane which they
belch up---methane being 20 times more heat-trapping than CO2.
The fact is, there is a population problem: too many people. Want to volunteer?
I did not think so. (How do they come up with these figures for CO2 generation by
county?? Perhaps they do it similarly to computing the grains of sand on all the
beaches in the world.
Speaking of scientific computation: It is pretty much accepted that "dark energy"
exists in the universe. There is problem, though---the ratio between the "computed"
value and the "observed" value differs a little---by a factor of 10^120th
(that's a thousand , billion billion billion billion...thirteen times)----so much for science!!

A major outstanding problem is that most quantum field theories predict a huge cosmological constant from the energy of the quantum vacuum, up to 120 orders of magnitude too large. This would need to be cancelled almost, but not exactly, by an equally large term of the opposite sign. Some supersymmetric theories require a cosmological constant that is exactly zero, which does not help. The present scientific consensus amounts to extrapolating the empirical evidence where it is relevant to predictions, and fine-tuning theories until a more elegant solution is found. Philosophically, our most elegant solution may be to say that if things were different, we would not be here to observe anything - the anthropic principle[7]. Technically, this amounts to checking theories against macroscopic observations (and perhaps becoming frustrated). Unfortunately, as the known error margin in the constant predicts the fate of the universe more than its present state, many such "deeper" questions remain unknown.--- Source   Wickipedia

Now--don't you feel more knowledgable??LOL
