The old-timers I know are dazzled by their "wealth," and they're spending like everyone else. Seems they've forgotten the depression. Sad. The piece of property I bought 2 years ago has now doubled in market value. It's not worth more, the dollar's worth less. The old ones try to reassure me that "during the depression, the banks didn't want the property back. They just wanted people to pay the interest on the loans." May be, but that's not the way it is now.
