I slap forgot about Allen and his fantastic job on the dobjo. As a matter of fact, that was the reason that I tried one myself. But his style , when he wanted it to be, was NOT standard Bluegrass, and I was into Scruggs style and Keith style exclusively. There was a period of about a year when we seemed to be booked with the McReynolds boys just about everywhere we went. I just don't have the versatility to make one of them critters sound right, and I don't have enough interest in it to acquire the versatility. Oh, well.
