Cap't Bob What to pack for a Folk festival/weekend (65* d) RE: What to pack for a Folk festival/weekend 01 Apr 07

I pack whatever is deemed necessary in order to have a good time. This will always include a wide assortment of musical instruments. The necessities of life (things that keep us alive) are packed by my wife. She actually likes to do that sort of thing. If all the packing were left up to me I'd probably have a lot of fun but may not survive a 3 day festival.
We are not hampered by the lack of space for transportation. Some years ago I acquired an old (1952) 20 passenger school bus. Rather short and stubby so its easy to park. I hollowed out the insides and put a bed/seat running lengthwise along each side. It's all open so when we get rain/storm/cold the bus will accommodate around 12 people playing instruments. With all the windows it is rather interesting to watch people trying to secure tents, patch leaks, getting soaked etc. The big fancy RV's with small windows miss out on half the fun.
The bus also doubles as a band bus and when used in parades we attach a portable sound system.
When you get old you need something like this.
