I was deeply saddened to hear about the sad loss of Barry. I first met him as an eighteen year old film student in 1975. He was an inspiring teacher, a gentle mentor and an wonderful human being. I owe him much, not least the first stepping stone to a career in film making. There will many who will have been touched by his remarkable generosity of spirit, enthusiasm, and warmth. He lives on in the many lives he has touched.
