I realise that getting a thread back on track goes rather against the spirit of this place, but I'm interested to know why the BBC spends so much money broadcasting music by French, Italian, German and other nationals, and so little by English (and indeed Welsh, Scottish or Irish) composers. As for indepenence for England, I think we should stop sending electricity generated with Yorkshire coal, down to the soft south-east. And if nuclear power stations are so safe, why don't they build one near to London where most of the electricity is consumed?
