just a word of praise about the above Festival held this last weekend(16th&17th June) at a new venue, having been priced out of the old one. Sure the new venue wasn't perfect but I thought the Festival was better in almost every other respect than in previous years. More people were there as "audience" and the general standard of singing was much better in the events I attended. The concerts, going on on two stages throughout the day and one in the evening presented a wide range of folk music from the USA, South America, Africa and Europe and though not a dancer myself it seemed that the opportunity existed to learn just about any variety of "folk" dance you might wish. Knowing many are mudcatters I'd just like to thank here all the visitors who showed up and bought the CD's of the people they liked, the great (unpaid) artists who performed and shared their expertise, and especially the dedicated volunteer staff who made my weekend such an enjoyable one and encourage you mudcatters who missed it to "come on down" for next years event.
