In the late '60's my wife had lodgings in New Cross opposite the Marquis of Granby [the Blessed Chris Wellard's record shop was two doors down]One memorable hot Saturday summer evening we had the sound of Big Tom and Mainliners from the Harp Club across the road blasting in the front of the flat and then King Crimson started up on the back lawn of Goldsmiths College at the back! We attended the KC concert later and got a bit paranoid when they turned on the strobe effects, we thought the college back wall was crumbling! That may have been due in some part to that year's fine crop of herbal produce round the back of the pottery dept! Great days!
