I've just got back from two weeks away from the Mudcat on holiday and then in London and am devastated to hear the news and to have missed the funeral. Colin helped me so much ten years ago when I was organising stewards for the first couple of Saddleworth festivals. His steady common sense was an absolute rock and it was always such a joy to bump into him at subsequent festivals. I don't know how he managed to feel like a dad to me when he was only four years older, but he did. You don't know what the meaning of anyone's life is until they have gone but now Colin's is clear - you only have to read the postings above. What a wonderful man! Love from Es and Chris until we meet again
