Just wanted to let M-Catters know about a fine little Celtic festival coming up this weekend in Monroe, Louisiana - The Northeast Louisiana Celtic Festival (www.nelacelticfest.net) - October 6th and 7th. It is a two day fest that is held on the grounds of the Monroe Zoo, so there is a chance that you will get to see dancing giraffes; of course there is a virtual guarantee that on Saturday night at the after-fest jam at Enoch's Pub (an Irish pub with a Louisiana attitude) you will encounter dancing giraffes, singing Unicorns and after downing five Guiness or more - you will most likely be able to understand the Gaelic language despite only being able to speak gibberish. There is a pretty good line-up of talent for this show too, that includes - Smithfield Fair, Mairtin de Cogain, Jim Flanagan, Legacy, Needfire, Danny O'Flaherty, Beyond The Pale, Jed Marum, Tim Britton, Bill Conly, Tim Glennon and Jeff Phillips. Remember, all roads lead to Monroe, Louisiana this weekend,...well,...at least I-20 does. See you there? Cheers.
