Edmund Flynn (inactive) Lyric Correction: Henry Martin (8) RE: Henry Martin Again 22 Apr 00

Thanks Leslie N for the lyrics .. which differ only a bit from those in DigiTrad.

My question concerns the last line in the next to last verse given in the DigiTrad version, which appears as:

The rich merchant was wounded full sore

Straight to the bottom went she

And Henry Martin sailed away, sailed away, sailed away

"... ON THE SALT SEA."

I suppose I could assume the prerogative of any baladeer and rejigger the line to suit my taste, but it would be nice to know what my predecessor really had in mind.

What do you think, Big Dog? How do you sing it? Or anybody else, please. Edmund
