Some of 'em get dysphonia, hysterical or otherwise. Some become alcoholics - not difficult on the UK folk circuit I would think! Some of 'em aren't businesslike. They should emulate people like John Kirkpatrick, already mentioned in this thread. I was incredibly impressed with John's merchandising operation at our village hall a few years ago - before, after and at half time out came the CDs AND a battery plastic card reader! He had about 30 quid off me in two shakes of a lamb's wotsit - and good for him.
