Then there's one that's hard to avoid. In "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen," in the second verse ("In Bethlehem in Jewry...") the old style English is trying to say "that which his mother Mary did nothing take in scorn" but it sure sounds like the singers are saying "that witch, his mother Mary." Never knew she was a Wiccan. |
