Quote: Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Slattery's light dragoons From: GUEST,Seán Date: 02 Mar 02 - 09:47 PM I am sure that the surrounding policemen were stout - at least in Brendan O'Dowd's version You're quite right, Sean. In Brendan's version, it runs: And when the army faced about, 'twas just in time to find A couple of stout policemen had surrounded us behind. And just in case people haven't noticed and are searching the internet for information about Brendan, although it seems it's often written O'Dowd, I'm pretty sure that's wrong and there should be an 'a' on the end - O'Dowda. I found more hits with the 'a' than without and our 3-cd set which he is on and a record we have both list him as O'Dowda, so I assume that's correct. Lyn.
