Sadly he joins those who died way before their time---Harry Chapin, Kate Wolf, Phil Ochs, to name a few. Seems the old cliche is right---"...the good die young". His "Leader of The Band" was my favorite piece and have played it a number of times on my program----it seems so metaphorical and can make you think of a previous generation as well as yourself as you age.
