Eizo flat panels are just about the best - if you have the cash! If you want to be a real poser you can get one with a hood round the screen and pretend to be a master photographer.

Re Kipling the cat - these "animals" do in fact sit on or near to ANYTHING which their humans are reading as they feel it diverts said humans' attention from themselves. Birman cats can even stop their humans drinking tea by shedding hairs in it.

Cats can however be fooled into ignoring a monitor by providing them with the cardboard box the monitor came in.
