John Wright 1947-2008 Pete Abbott (John Wright Band) will be at The Clarence Folk Club (Blackpool) this Wednesday 13th February, it's going to be a tough gig! I heard this evening (too late to confirm) that the evening will be turned over to "John's songs", and Gregor Borland (John Wright Band) is coming over to Join Pete for the evening. This will be a sad farewell to John but I'm sure he would prefer to leave us all with a smile on our faces, fond memories of his friendship and appreciation of his works. To quote Pete's song "Windy Harbour" Life is a game Win or lose it's all the same you live and you die Just don't let it pass you by You have choices to make You have chances to take You will laugh, you will sing and you will cry But don't let a moment pass you by" John sang this song for us the last time we saw him and certainly John didn't let a moment of life pass him by! He is going to be missed by us and everyone his life touched, a sad loss. RIP John Wright PB
