Catherine Jayne, when a group of us were involved in a horse v car incident the very first thing the police asked was were we wearing hi vis equipment (he actually asked me this whilst standing in front of him wearing it ?????).

We felt that the police were very much on our side - how the motorist could not have seen us is unbelievable. We ofter wonder what the reaction would have been had we not been so visible ??

The rider was injured but the horse sadly died at the scene - so be warned all you Hi Vis wearers they do not make you invincible - some people still dont look where they're going.
