GUEST,L. Paige Origins: My Pigeon House (51* d) RE: Origins: My Pigeon House 24 Feb 08

I learned the following lyrics to My Pigeon House from a 45 rpm recording by Mary Stuart (star of the soap opera, Search for Tomorrow). Don't know when it was recorded, but it has to be approximately 50+ years ago. Haven't been able to find any additional lyrics other than the following (please let me know if there is any more to the song):

My pigeon house I open wide,
And set my pigeons free.
They fly so high on every side,
As far as the eye can see.
And when they come home from their merry, merry flight,
I'll kiss them all, and I'll say goodnight.

Coo-roo, etc.

I thought there were more stanzas to this song, but the memory has long ago faded. This lullaby has been sung to my children, and now to my youngest grandchild. Since they all responded by falling asleep rather quickly, the soothing words have not lost their magic. (Or maybe, Morpheus' touch enables them to bear my singing talents better!}
