I had an endometrial ablation procedure in October 2003 after bleeding daily for nearly a year (wearing Depends in addition to super tampax AND pads) and two hospital visits for what I thought was hemorrhaging. I have a fibroid <4cm sq and a right ovarian cyst. Very little pain ever. The endometrial ablation procedure was painless, quick, and effective. I still have normal to heavy periods at age 49, but hopefully they will go away within another few years. The blessing is that they are regular, predictable, manageable. The hoped-for cessation of periods didn't happen. I highly recommend the procedure! Nancy
