A pop version was published and was in the charts in the 40s I think. I have the sheet music somewhere, and of course presumably from this version arose the terrace chant:- Can you hear ......sing? No-o, no-o, Can you hear ......sing? No-o, no-o, Can you hear ......sing? I can't hear a f.....g thing. No-o, no-o, no-o! Sung with gusto when the singers' team has just gone into the lead. Is this also in use on the western side of the pond?
