Having walked the path you describe in your delightful commmentary (more then once) and being of the Irish persuassion (only once) and having had to duck or take the frying pan that Jan Ellen with the McGuire swing (Many times more then once)is using, I have come upon a solution that benefits me to the hilt. It doesn't win me many friends and it doesn't endear me to a lot of causes. But it satisfies my soul and my brain and my heart. I sincerely tell the truth. The reasons for this are as follows, 1, If I told a lie, I would eventually tell a second one. 2 If I told a second one, I would tell a third to cover the first or the second. etc etc etc. My major problem was, when dealing with 5 seperate women I forgot which one I told what lie to henceforth came Jan Ellens famous swing from at least 5 different directions and my poor head couldn't take it anymore. So I got rid of four of the five, married the other one and just told the plain old truth from then on. Peace and Quiet reigns, The wounds have healed, the eyes have turned blue again (from Black) and I am learning to play the banjo. What more could a man ask for?? Except another pint of Guiness in the town of Cork.
