I read that Waylon did not know the words to the song (nor Cajun French) and that he or someone just jotted the lyrics down phonetically from another recording (don't know who's). So copying down Waylon's version could turn into a sort of "Chinese whispers" game. But you never know, there might be someone out there...... Maybe the English language version by Louisiana singer Rod Bernard has already been mentioned. I have it on LP, but unfortunately cannot play my vinyl at the moment.
