I have associated this song with Len Chandler since sometime before 1964. I am under the impression it was Len who created the song Green Green Rocky Road, and that he based on the rhyme in the Courlander book.
If there's any interest in this direction, I will post the words as I remember them. Len taught the song to me back then and I sang it for many years, but so long ago ....
