After nearly twenty years of sitting on a music composition degree, I've recently been certified to teach music in the public schools. Had I read Bonnie's postings first, perhaps I could have saved myself the trouble.

Indeed, I am self taught, and my degrees are small measure of what I've become. To spend time peering into the music of the great composers like Beethoven, Brahms, Bach--and then be able to discern the theory behind their inspiration--I wouldn't trade it for the world.

And I did not appreciate Bonnie's flame.
